A prototype that set the direction for a website refresh

Acerta supports start-ups and employers by providing guidance, tools and an extensive knowledge base. In this project, we took the first creative steps towards refreshing their website in line with their new branding. These prototypes were used as inspiration to further improve the live website step by step. We collaborated with Invisible Puppy on this project.

Imagine & define

From knowledge library to search results in seconds

The biggest challenge wasn’t about ‘more content’, but about finding what you need more quickly. Acerta has a wealth of knowledge, but visitors mainly want to know straight away where to start. Together with Invisible Puppy, we identified the different target groups and their questions in detail and determined which pathways and entry points make the difference.

Invisible Puppy developed an information architecture capable of supporting all the content. Studio Fox translated that structure into clear user flows and wireframes, with a single focus: ensuring visitors are guided along the right path without hesitation, whether they are a start-up, an employer, an accountant or simply looking for a specific answer.

A search experience that underpins the site

We developed an intuitive search function as the central hub of the experience. Not as a standalone search bar, but as a guiding entry point that immediately provides direction through recognisable categories, smart suggestions and clear results. This ensures that the knowledge library isn’t a maze, but a practical tool that helps you move forward.

Design & build

New branding, translated into a clear interface

Based on the new brand identity, we created a fresh web design with a strong focus on readability, hierarchy and a sense of calm. The prototype demonstrates how content blocks, navigation and search results work together to form a single, consistent whole. This enabled Acerta to make decisions more quickly internally, align stakeholders and conduct targeted testing to see what works, even before the main development work began.

Use & engage

From homepage to user journey

As there were many stakeholders involved and opinions differed, this design also served as a discussion tool. It brought discussions back to specific screens and user behaviour. The result is an experience that not only looks good, but above all helps users find their way around, compare options and take action, with clear paths to the right information and next steps.

Approach and results

A clear framework for iteration and improvement

This case study demonstrates how, in collaboration with Invisible Puppy, we combined structure and design into a prototype that provided direction for the subsequent roll-out. It made the narrative easy to grasp, the information accessible, and the new branding applicable within a digital experience that could evolve step by step.
