A digital shop window, initially as a prototype

Otium is a Belgian design brand specialising in timeless pieces for both indoor and outdoor use. For this project, we created a prototype website that immediately conveys the brand story, the product ranges and the overall atmosphere. The aim was to create a clear, uncluttered online experience that feels as refined as the products themselves, featuring strong mock-ups that clearly demonstrate the direction of the website.

Imagine & define

First the right flow, then the right atmosphere

The challenge was to present the product range not as a long list of items, but as a visual experience that provides the right information at the right time. We therefore began by asking the fundamental questions: what does a visitor want to see first, where does trust begin, and what content helps them make a choice? Based on these insights, we determined the page flow from the home page to collections and product details, and gave inspiration and material information a fixed place. This creates a logical route that feels like browsing through a beautiful lookbook, with clear navigation and calls to action leading to collections, inspiration, and contact or purchase.

Design & build

A minimalist design system that embodies the brand

For the UI design, we opted for a calm, natural style with plenty of breathing space and soft accents. Organic shapes and blocks of colour lend the whole design a sense of warmth without feeling cluttered. We worked with reusable components such as product cards, content blocks and CTA variants, ensuring the pages remain consistent and are easily expandable. The mock-ups demonstrate how the narrative, the collection and the product information come together in a single cohesive layout, on desktop and across the most common screen sizes.

Result

A prototype that sets the direction

The result is a visually striking prototype that clearly positions Otium as a brand and showcases the products to their best advantage. Even though the current live website has since evolved, this case remains a fine example of how we bring together brand, structure and interface in a set of compelling mock-ups that are ready to be translated into a live site.
