A fresh new direction for the website as a starting point

AssessmentQ is a platform for digital exams and assessments. Studio Fox developed the initial creative concept for a new web design in the form of mock-ups and a prototype. This direction was then further developed by Invisible Puppy and the in-house team, serving as the basis for a step-by-step revamp of the site with a fresher layout and improved structure.

Imagine & define

From a complex range to a clear entry point

We started by refining the core of the story. What is AssessmentQ, who is it for, and what does a visitor need to understand first? The focus was on providing a clear entry point for schools and organisations, with a logical path to product information, features and contact details. We defined the key page structures and laid the foundations for an interface that inspires confidence and provides quick answers.

Based on this direction, we developed wireframes to support the content and navigation. We focused on a clear hierarchy, ease of scanning and a consistent structure for the sections. This quickly revealed which content works best where and how visitors can move smoothly through the site, from the overview to the details.

Design & build

Mock-ups that define the look and feel

We then translated the wireframes into high-fidelity mock-ups with a fresh, accessible style. We kept the overall look light and modern, with plenty of white space, clear CTAs and recognisable visual accents. The prototype brought the experience to life and provided the internal team and Invisible Puppy with a concrete framework for rolling out the new design across the entire site.

Result

A spark that sets the site in motion

The result is a strong set of mock-ups and a prototype that set out the new visual direction. Not as an end point, but as a starting point. AssessmentQ was given a clear web direction that the in-house team and Invisible Puppy could use to continue building a revamped website more quickly, consistently and with greater confidence.
