Forum Jobs is an HR group with a strong local network that connects candidates and companies. With the Forum Jobs app, they bring job vacancies, applications and follow-up together in a single mobile experience, enabling job seekers to search more quickly and take immediate action. We delivered this project in collaboration with Next Apps, now known as Who Owns The Zebra.
Imagine & define
We started with the user flow. What should a user be able to do without having to search or hesitate? First, a brief onboarding process and login, then straight to the job listings, with search, filter and sort functions as the foundation. We then developed the core actions, such as saving jobs and applying straight away, plus the follow-up features that put users at ease. Studio Fox created the wireframes and defined the UI direction. Next Apps took charge of the information architecture, project management and technical implementation.
Design & build
Using the wireframes, we developed a clear mobile app design that is easy to navigate and supports quick decision-making. The job list is easy to scan and action-oriented, detail pages provide just enough context to apply, and saved jobs are always close at hand. In the follow-up, the user is given an overview of steps and updates, with space for additional information such as documents and communications. Forum Jobs itself also emphasises simplicity: all vacancies in one place, uploading documents in a single click, and real-time updates.
Use & engage
Momentum
The app is built around momentum. If someone feels interested, they should be able to act on it straight away. That’s why searching, saving and applying are all part of a single seamless process, with clear status updates and feedback so you know exactly where you stand. The result is a mobile experience that lowers the barrier to entry, improves clarity and guides candidates more quickly towards the right next step.
Motivation
To keep users engaged, there is also a points system. You earn points with every job-related action, which you can later redeem on Forum Jobs. This means the app isn’t just handy, but also motivates you to come back and keep going.
